Abstract: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This research aims to clarify the stance of German Orientalists regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque – one of the most prominent Islamic holy sites and one of the most significant religious and historical landmarks in the world. The study adopts both analytical and deductive methodologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The research outlines the characteristics of German Orientalism, its main approaches, and provides a brief overview of its historical background. It then analyzes the perspective of German Orientalists on this grand monument from several angles: the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque as reflected in Prophetic traditions (Hadith) about its virtue, its connection to the miraculous Night Journey and Ascension (Isra and Mi’raj), and their views on the sacred sites within it – such as the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wall. The study also discusses their position on the claim that Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine constitute the “Promised Land.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The research concludes with several findings, including that German Orientalism is generally characterized by neutrality and academic fairness, despite some opinions expressed by German Orientalists that conflict with Islamic tenets. The study affirms that the significance of Al-Aqsa Mosque is firmly established and possesses unique characteristics that distinguish it from the two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina. This serves as a rebuttal to biased German Orientalists who questioned the authenticity of Hadiths regarding Al-Aqsa’s virtues or doubted the events of Isra and Mi’raj, even though some fair-minded Orientalists acknowledged their importance. The study also clarifies the German Orientalists’ stance on the sacred sites within Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly the Western Wall, and their views on the concept of the Promised Land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The research recommends further studies that adopt objective scientific methodologies and draw from diverse sources to present a more balanced and comprehensive view of the history and significance of Al-Aqsa Mosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
